sponsor-ed reaches 100 schools |
We are extremely excited to announce that sponsor-ed has now hit the magical number of 100 schools using a free sponsor-ed website. From our official launch in February this year, we now have representation at all points of the compass across Greater Melbourne with this number being added to daily. Primary, Secondary, State, Catholic and Independent schools are all represented.
Term 3 has commenced and so too have the enquiries so we hope to be celebrating our 200th, 300th and 400th milestones sometime later this year.
For those numerically inclined;
- over $700,000 worth of free websites have been given away to Victorian schools
- sponsor-ed websites communicate with over 50,000 parents
- sponsor-ed websites generate over 600,000 pageviews per month
- sponsor-ed is now Australia's largest developer of school websites
If you want to join an ever expanding group with a free sponsor-ed website, we'd be very pleased to welcome you on board. Just email info@sponsor-ed.com.au or call 1300 755 010 more.....

From the desk - Twitter, fad or here to stay?

I started writing articles in preparation of the first sponsor-ed newsletter back in April - I know, I've been avoiding it. I wanted to write about Twitter the micro-blogging site that was and still is all the buzz. Well back in April with around 15 million users worldiwde I thought we were going to see our first high profile social networking fizzer. I was very skeptical regarding its actual utility and purpose, I found the notion of knowing what people were up to kind of irrelevant more....

Make This My Homepage & your fundraising

The revenue you generate is a function of the number of visits to your website. One of the easiest ways of growing your pageviews is to ask your community to make the website their homepage. All people have to do to make this happen is to press the big orange button found in the top right hand corner of the school site (an extra step may be required for browsers other than Internet Explorer). That’s it!

Platinum sponsors of the Victorian Principals Association

We are very pleased to announce that sponsor-ed has in fact become a sponsor itself – sponsor of the Victorian Principals Association. The strength of membership of the VPA will certainly help propel our message right across the state. We also see a great opportunity to work with people in the VPA to help us keep across issues effecting schools advising us on how our web solution can play a role.
Our sponsorship of the VPA is a commitment to our investment in the education sector ensuring schools has the best communications tools available in the digital arena. We see that this sponsorship will benefit not only the VPA and sponsor-ed, but the entire school community including parents, teacher and students.

Over 80 million pieces of paper used on school newsletters
Almost all sponsor-ed schools have moved to an online presentation of their newsletters. Our pilot schools suggested we implement an email reminder to go to parents informing them that the newsletter was now available on the school website. You can see a sample of this at Wattle Park Primary . The email reminder has proved very successful in ensuring that important school news is not missed.
Online newsletters are a huge cost saver. Some preliminary figures suggest that it costs anywhere between $5,000 to $10,000 a year in staff time and printing costs; not to mention the environmental impact. One school we’re working with calculated that they consumed 250,000 pieces of paper per year printing their newsletters.
Go online and save trees - lots of them.
